Heat and moisture build up is a common problem with respirators. The 3M 4000 series features a centrally positioned exhalation valve to remove heat and moisture more efficiently, making this a more comfortable option.

A resealable bag is included with all models. This helps to keep the mask clean between uses. There is also an overspray guard as an optional extra which helps prolong the life of your respirator.

It is important to consider the limitations of the 3M 4000 series respirators.
- Do not use in potentially explosive environments, atmospheres containing less than 19.5% oxygen, confined spaces (lack of ventilation), or where the contaminant concentration is above the protection limit defined for 4000+ user instructions.
